A Bracelet of War

Re ”Remains Are Identified as Vietnam War Pilot’s” (news item, Dec. 28):

Years ago an organization offered bracelets with the names of those missing in action. I got one with the name Maj. Robert Elliot and the date 2-14-68.

I often thought about Major Elliot and his family. When I visited the Vietnam War Memorial tiffany jewellery, I touched his name. I looked for his name whenever there was news about the return of soldiers’ remains.

Today I found his name, Col. Robert M. Elliot, who was promoted while missing, in your article.

I am grateful to know that he is finally coming home to rest. I will keep the article with the bracelet, and Colonel Elliot and his family will continue to be in my thoughts.
