<p style="margin-top: 0px">In the last five years,<a href="http://www.discountiffany.com/tiffany-pendants-c-3.html" target="_blank"><b><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-17.html" target="_blank">pendants</a></span></b></a>, two Public League boys golfers have advanced to the state finals.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">That could change this year. Lindblom Math and Science, a South Side magnet school, will field a team whose members were all part of a grammar school championship last year.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">According to Lindblom coach Hurman Mathus, if his team breaks the streak,<a href="http://www.discountiffany.com/tiffany-watches-c-21.html" target="_blank"><b>watches</b></a>, it might be the last time a Public League squad makes the trip because of what players within the city have to overcome.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;For as much as we are supposed to be helping the kids, we are hindering them,&quot; said Mathus,<a href="http://www.discountiffany.com/charm-bracelet-p-37.html" target="_blank"><b>Charm bracelet</b></a>, who added that the Public League has had three golf coordinators in the last five years.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">The issues come down to two main problems: organization and access.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Although the season started Aug. 16, Billy Casper Golf, which runs the public courses for the Chicago Park District, and Lincoln Park coach Michael Bentley were still waiting on conference schedules a week later.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">The uncertainty for Bentley covers more than scheduling.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;I wasn&#8217;t even sure if I was coming back as a teacher,&quot; Bentley said. &quot;It makes it hard to plan for a sport with your job up in the air.&quot;</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Because Mathus moved to Lindblom, his former school, Urban Prep, will be without a coach &#8212; and a team &#8212; this year.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;I can count on two hands schools that have a coach that played and knows the game,<a href="http://www.discountiffany.com/bead-bracelet-p-42.html" target="_blank"><b>Bead bracelet</b></a>,&quot; Mathus said.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">The issue of access is even more detrimental.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Programs like &quot;The First Tee,&quot; which are designed to help spread golf&#8217;s reach to kids who might not have had exposure to the sport, are available, but that doesn&#8217;t mean parents know where to find them.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Many Public League golfers enter high school with little or no golf experience. Once there, athletic budgets often don&#8217;t allow coaches to enter some of the bigger tournaments,<a href="http://www.discountiffany.com/atlas-charm-bracelet-p-35.html" target="_blank"><b>Atlas charm bracelet</b></a>, costing athletes essential experience before the postseason.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">But the most limiting factor is money.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Children under 17 can play for free after 5 p.m. at a different course in the city each day, but getting kids to those courses can be difficult.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;It still costs $18 for a round of golf. Not many parents can afford that,&quot; Mathus said. &quot;For them, it comes down to a decision of if we can eat tonight or we let you practice and see what might happen.&quot;</p>

<p style="margin-top: 0px">Kaimen Ward died after getting into difficulties during a visit to Hambleton Leisure Centre, in Northallerton, North Yorkshire,<a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/" target="_blank"><b><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/" target="_blank">tiffany</a></span></b></a>, on Wednesday afternoon.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">His mother, Caroline Ward, who was not at the leisure centre when the tragedy happened, at about 4pm, was told of her son&#8217;s death by police.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">The 41-year-old wept last night as she asked: &quot;I want answers as to how this was allowed to happen.&quot;</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">As a police investigation continued last night, Hambleton District Council, which runs the pool, said the accident happened despite a higher than usual number of lifeguards.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">The authority said Kaimen died while a public swimming session was ending and a lesson was beginning &#8211; meaning the pool had a large number of lifeguards and expert swimmers on hand.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">The 25-metre pool was patrolled by three lifeguards, with two instructors preparing to supervise the swimming lessons also at the poolside.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Ms Ward, of Ashlands Road,<a href="http://www.discountiffany.com/tiffany-bangles-c-1.html" target="_blank"><b><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-4.html" target="_blank">bangles</a></span></b></a>, Northallerton, paid tribute to her &quot;perfect&quot; son, who celebrated his eighth birthday a week before he died.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Birthday cards could still be seen yesterday at the home she shared with Kaimen and his twin sister, Hope-Ella.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Ms Ward said: &quot;What I want to know is, where the hell were the lifeguards?</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;It is peak season at the pool, so how did he go unsupervised?</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;I want answers as to how this was allowed to happen. I want to prevent this happening to another child.&quot;</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Ms Ward, who also has a 19year-old son, said: &quot;Kaimen was such a lovely boy &#8211; his sister doesn&#8217;t know why he hasn&#8217;t come home.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;He was a lovely little chap &#8211; he loved his gadgets.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;He was perfect in my eyes.&quot;</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">In a statement released by North Yorkshire Police, Kaimen&#8217;s family described him as &quot;the best son and brother anyone could wish for&quot;.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">The statement said: &quot;We are struggling to come to terms with what has happened. It has left us completely devastated.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;We would like to thank everybody for all the love and support we have received.&quot;</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Floral tributes to Kaimen have been left outside the leisure centre, which remained closed yesterday as police and Health and Safety Executive investigations continued.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">It is expected to remain shut until Sunday at the earliest.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">A card on one bouquet read:</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;Deepest sympathies. Forever in our thoughts and prayers.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Sleep well.&quot;</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Councillor Peter Wilkinson, the district council&#8217;s cabinet member for health, said there were about 35 to 40 people in the pool at the time of the incident.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">He said nothing like this had happened at any of the four swimming pools the council operates since the authority was created in 1974.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">Coun Wilkinson said: &quot;We are co-operating fully with the investigation, staff are making statements and we are carrying out our own investigation into this tragic incident.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">&quot;It is not clear exactly what happened and it is important that we get to the bottom of it.</p>

Right now, we are doing clothing and accessories, with the exception of handmade baskets and hand-carved animals from Ghana,<a href="http://www.discountiffany.com/tiffany-bracelets-c-2.html" target="_blank"><b><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-5.html" target="_blank">bracelets</a></span></b></a>,&quot; Gingerich said.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px">The tightly woven baskets, as well as the giraffe and elephants, carved probably from teak wood, are purchased directly from Ghana artists, she said.</p>

<p style="margin-top: 0px">The ministry&#8217;s focus now is more on the schools and education. But the profits from the shop go wherever they are needed, whether it&#8217;s the school, medical care or mission work, Gingerich said.</p>

<p>These days, it&#8217;s not hard to find bad news about girls who, sadly, don&#8217;t feel  beautiful. <p>While comedians often joke that the coffee chain seemingly has a store on  every street corner, Tiffany&#8217;s hit the trifecta on a less-than-one-mile stretch  of Las Vegas Boulevard.</p>
<p>The 173-year-old New York City based-company celebrates the grand opening of  its third Strip location today at the <a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/"><strong><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/" target="_blank">tiffany jewelry</a></span></strong></a> retail and  dining district inside CityCenter.</p>
<p>The 10,000-square-foot, two-level store, which had a soft opening in  December, fronts the Strip with an 85-foot-high glass facade and an entrance  from the sidewalk.</p>
<p>The Crystals location continues Tiffany&#8217;s marriage with the gaming industry  and the Strip&#8217;s <a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-5.html"><strong>tiffany  <span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-5.html" target="_blank">bracelets</a></span></strong></a> retail centers. The company&#8217;s two other Las Vegas stores are  in the Shops at Via Bellagio and the Forum Shops at Caesars.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t need to train for the Rock &#8216;n&#8217; Roll Marathon to visit all three  Tiffany&#8217;s. They are minutes apart.</p>
<p>Tiffany&#8217;s, known for its distinctive jewelry, diamonds and its trademarked  Tiffany Blue packaging, owns multiple stores in several cities, including Los  Angeles and New York, where it still operates its flagship building on New  York&#8217;s Fifth Avenue. The company has 79 stores in the United States.</p>
<p>Tiffany Group Vice President Edward Gerard said all three Las Vegas locations  are unique. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is <em>Valentine&#8217;s Day</em> and time for romance. If you plan to purchase  sweets for your sweetie while sticking to a budget, it might be smartest to not  sample the merchandise first. According to new research by Juliano Laran of the  University of Miami School of Business Administration and Chris Janiszewski of  the University of Florida, Gainesville, there are reasons some people  overindulge in unhealthy foods, buy more than they want, and party more than is  good for them &#8212; and why others seem immune to such weaknesses.</p>
<p>The full report, to appear in the print edition of the Journal of Consumer  Research in April, says <a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/"><strong><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/" target="_blank">tiffany</a></span> and  co</strong></a> shoppers can become triggered to indulge, unknowingly, by walking  into a store and accepting a sample of chocolate from a salesperson.  <em>Valentine&#8217;s Day</em> shoppers will obviously face this sweet tooth  challenge.</p>
<p>The study looks at how people manage competing goals like eating healthy  versus unhealthy, and being frugal versus being a spendthrift. In a series of  eight tests, involving close to 300 study participants each, Laran and  Janiszewski used chocolate truffles to examine what triggers such behaviors.</p>
<p>&#8220;We gave the participants a chocolate truffle and had them eat it versus  resist it,&#8221; said Laran. &#8220;We then observed how much they desired certain food  items and found that if the goal of indulging was activated by eating the sweet,  participants tended to keep pursuing that goal (of indulgence) until they felt  it was met by eating more and more truffles. The participants also showed a  preference for fattier foods (ice cream, pizza, and chips) versus healthier  foods (a salad, apple, and granola bar) when indicating how much they wanted a  series of food items at the moment.&#8221;</p>
<p>Additional findings are as follows:</p>
<p>&#8211; Conversely, study subjects who resisted the truffle activated the goal</p>
<p>of healthy eating and showed a preference for healthier foods versus</p>
<p>fatty ones.</p>
<p>&#8211; In one experiment, those who enjoyed the first truffle also valued <a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-4.html"><strong>valentines  <span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-4.html" target="_blank">bangles</a></span></strong></a></p>
<p>non-food consumer luxuries, such as Apple computers, designer shirts,</p>
<p>high-end TVs and cruises as compared with those who resisted the</p>
<p>truffles.</p>
<p>&#8211; Once a goal was achieved, it was turned off, and a rebound occurred.</p>
<p>Participants who were given a subtle cue that one truffle was enough</p>
<p>were more likely to select healthy snacks. This &#8220;rebound</p>
<p>effect&#8221; was described by the researchers to be like a thermostat</p>
<p>realizing it made the room hot enough and therefore switching on the air</p>
<p>conditioning to cool it down.</p>
<p>&#8220;This research should speak loud and clear to stores selling Valentine&#8217;s  candies this month,&#8221; said Laran. &#8220;It would be a <a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-8.html"><strong><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-8.html" target="_blank">necklaces</a></span></strong></a> very  good idea to offer customers sample treats at the door but not to a point where  they will think they have indulged too much. And, shoppers&#8230;beware!&#8221;</p>
<p>In addition, for those study participants who were told &#8220;good job&#8221; for  resisting the urge of truffles, once they felt good about themselves for  reaching their healthy-eating goal, the study shows that they then shut this  healthy goal off and allowed their indulgence goal to rise to the surface. In  this case, they wanted to eat the fattier food items.</p>
<p>Laran speculates that this may be why dieters so often rebound when setting a  goal (&#8220;I want to lose 10 pounds&#8221;) and reaching it &#8211; this could unconsciously  turn off the goal in favor of a competing one, like eating more.</p>
<p>&#8220;The secret to avoiding switching back to an unhealthy craving is to keep  renovating the active goal so you never really reach it,&#8221; Laran said. &#8220;Instead  of celebrating the 10-pound loss, renovate the goal to losing inches, or  performing better in a physical test.&#8221;</p>

<p>One person even tried strapping the SCRAM to a cat in the hopes of being able  to take a drink undetected. The attempt may have been creative, but it wasn&#8217;t  effective.</p>
<p>&#8220;The machine said, &#8216;I ain&#8217;t buying this. That&#8217;s not a human heart,&#8217;&#8221; said Bob  Moeller, a subcontractor for Polygraphs Etc. in Cheyenne.</p>
<p>A SCRAM, or Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor, is a sophisticated  ankle <em>bracelet</em> some multiple and high-risk DUI offenders are ordered to  wear in Laramie County to make sure they do not drink as a condition of their  bond or probation.</p>
<p>The monitor is bulky yet lightweight and detects alcohol consumption through  sweat around the clock at a rate of about once per hour.</p>
<p>If someone wearing the <em>bracelet</em> has a drink or tries to tamper with  the device, it won&#8217;t be long before the court learns of the violation.</p>
<p>&#8220;One of the big issues that we have, alcohol is always the most difficult  thing to catch if people are using it,&#8221; said Kurt Zunker, coordinator of the  Laramie County DUI and drug courts.</p>
<p>Before SCRAMs, Zunker said, the traditional standby for preventing alcohol  use was to <a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-17.html"><strong><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-17.html" target="_blank">pendants</a></span></strong></a> do  surprise visits on a Friday and Saturday night and catch offenders with a  breathalyzer test, a technique he described as ineffective.</p>
<p>The <em>bracelet</em> works in conjunction with a modem that is connected to  a land telephone line that is usually placed at the offender&#8217;s home or work  place. The modem processes information from the <em>bracelet</em> that is then  sent over the phone line to a data processing center in Denver.</p>
<p>The DUI Court recently received a $36,000 grant from the Wyoming Department  of Transportation&#8217;s Highway Safety Program to fund the continued use of the  SCRAM <em><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-5.html" target="_blank">bracelets</a></span></em>.</p>
<p>The court, which began operating in the summer of 2006, contracts with  Polygraphs Etc. to help provide the SCRAM services.</p>
<p>Zunker said the <em>bracelet</em> can detect the difference between when a  person drinks alcohol or has a small amount of alcohol in their system from a  medicine. It keeps track of a person&#8217;s pulse and body temperature and registers  an alert for fluctuations by a few degrees. An infrared device also detects the  distance between the <em>bracelet</em> and the wearer&#8217;s skin to help prevent  people from strapping it to something else.</p>
<p>&#8220;In the long run, it&#8217;s a benefit to the community, because we know that  people who have been arrested multiple times for DUI are not on the road,&#8221; he  said.</p>
<p>The length of time participants in the DUI Court have to wear the  <em>bracelet</em> varies from person to <a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-7.html"><strong><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-7.html" target="_blank">earrings</a></span></strong></a> person.  The program typically lasts a year.</p>
<p>Zunker credits SCRAMs for some of the effectiveness of the county&#8217;s DUI Court  because the sight and constant reminder usually ensures participants immediately  stop drinking.</p>
<p>&#8220;It gives you that initial buy-in, and then hopefully we can get you involved  in drug and alcohol therapy,&#8221; Zunker said.</p>
<p>The DUI Court has had 43 people wear a SCRAM <em>bracelet</em>, and Zunker  said between eight and 10 court participants are usually wearing the  <em>bracelets</em> at any given time. To date, 23 of the 71 people who have  participated in DUI Court have graduated.</p>
<p>Zunker said one person in the program and one graduate have been rearrested  for DUI.</p>
<p>Moeller said he knows of several people who credit staying sober to the  constant reminder <a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-1.html"><strong>key  <span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.sterlingtiffany.com/product-9.html" target="_blank">rings</a></span></strong></a> strapped to their ankle, including one woman who wanted to keep  wearing the SCRAM after seven months because she believed it was all that  prevented her from drinking again.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a reliable system,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You don&#8217;t get false readings, despite  what some of the clients might say.&#8221;</p>
